Inspections
The Inspections module allows you to create, view, and keep track of all Inspections in the system. The module is available from the side menu bar.
View All Inspections
The View Inspections screen displays a list of all Inspections in the system. From this screen, you can :
- Assign a new Inspection
- View an Inspection
- Delete an Inspection
- Reassign an Inspection
- Search text from Inspections
- Restore Inspections from Backup
- Sort grid columns by clicking on the headers
Restore from Backup
To restore inspection data from the Tablet to the Company Portal (alternative to Inspection upload), Inspectors can manually restore the information from the tablet's backup. This option is ideal for when an internet connection is unavailable or weak.
By Clicking “restore from backup” found on the Inspection Screen, you will be directed to the Restore from backup screen. From this screen, click “Browse.” This will prompt a file upload window on your computer for the backup.
The Inspector can take a backup from either the tablet’s hard drive or a USB drive (The tablet saves the backup as a zip file).
Note: Inspectors cannot take or restore backups of reissued inspections (historical inspections) from the tablet.
Reassign an Inspection
To reassign a completed Inspection, click the “Reassign” link from the View Inspections screen. The system automatically takes the Client, Client Contact, Location, Asset, and Inspection type data from the previous Inspection. Users can be reassigned inspections immediately or scheduled for a future date, and inspections can be reassigned to single or multiple inspectors.
Search text from Inspections
The search function can filter out Inspection details by Inspection type Inspector, Asset or Client.
Delete an Inspection
To delete an inspection, Click the “Delete” button from the Inspection screen. ONly Super Admins can delete inspections.
The inspection can only be deleted if the inspection is still pending. There are four statuses for inspections:
- Pending - User assigned the inspection to the inspector - Can be deleted
- Downloaded - Inspector synchronized the assigned inspection to the tablet - Cannot be deleted.
- Completed - Inspector signed and submitted the assigned inspection and uploaded it - Cannot be deleted.
- Active - User assigns inspection to multiple inspectors, and one has yet to upload the inspection to the Company Portal - Cannot be deleted.
Assign New Inspection
Click “Assign Inspection” from the View Inspections screen to assign a new Inspection. Enter the Inspection details from the available drop-downs. Inspections can be assigned immediately or scheduled for a future date.
Inspection Mode
Inspection mode allows you to choose either a single Inspector or multiple Inspectors. If Multiple Inspectors are selected, an Inspection can be broken up by Items and assigned to different Inspectors.
- Select Multiple Inspectors as the Inspection Mode
- Select an Inspector from the Inspector dropdown
- Click “Assign” to assign the inspection Parent item to the Inspector
- Click “Re-assign” to change the assignment to another Inspector. Make sure the Inspector to the assignment will be re-assigned to is already selected in the drop-down
Assign New Inspection
Click “Assign Inspection” from the View Inspections screen to assign a new Inspection. Enter the Inspection details from the available drop-downs. Inspections can be assigned immediately or scheduled for a future date.
Inspection Mode
Inspection mode allows you to choose either a single Inspector or multiple Inspectors. If Multiple Inspectors are selected, an Inspection can be broken up by Items and assigned to different Inspectors.
- Select Multiple Inspectors as the Inspection Mode
- Select an Inspector from the Inspector dropdown
- Click “Assign” to assign the inspection Parent item to the Inspector
- Click “Re-assign” to change the assignment to another Inspector. Make sure the Inspector to the assignment will be re-assigned to is already selected in the drop-down
View an Inspection
Click “View” from the View All Inspection screen to view an Inspection. The View an Inspection screen allows you to view the inspection details and edit certain parts of the Inspection.
From this screen, you can:
- Highlight the item in the Items List
- Click “Item Details” to view/edit the Item profile.
- Click “Instructions” to view the item instructions
- Click “Item Notes” to view/edit the Item Notes for the highlighted item
- Click “Item Photos” to view/edit the Item photos for the highlighted item
- Click “Notes” to view/edit the notes for the question
- Click “Photos” to view/edit the photos for the question
- Perform an Item Search
- View the custom asset profile
- View Inspection Options allow you to generate reports or compare the inspection with previous ones.
- Click “Question” to sort the questions
- Issue SDN Item
- Item is inaccessible to the field
- Item is Removed from the field
- Item is Not assigned on the field

Asset Profile
The Asset Profile allows you to edit the custom fields set up with the Custom Asset Module for your installation. Note that how this screen looks will depend on your custom configuration. If you need any changes, you must contact Konverge Administrator.
Search Items
Click on “Search” to open the Item Search window. Enter the Item Name or Tag to find the item in the list.
Item Options
Item Options allow you to view reports, compare Inspections with previous Inspections, or view the Inspection highlighted with deficient questions from the previous Inspection. Click “Options” to launch the Inspection Options Window.
Instructions
Clicking on “Instructions” lets you view the instructions and accompanying documents originally entered into the system when the inspection question was created. Click the document name to download it.
Item Profile
The Item Profile window allows you to edit the Profile type. If the Type field does not appear, it means that the Item Category was not selected while creating the Template Builder in the Template Builder.
Item Notes/Notes
The Item Notes and Notes window allows you to view or edit notes entered by the Inspector. This screen is accessible by clicking “Item Notes,” which will display the top-level notes for the List Item, or by clicking “Notes” on the question to display notes just for that question.
Item Photos/Photos
The Item Photos and Photos window allows you to view or edit photos submitted by the Inspector. This screen is accessible by clicking “Item Photos,” which will display the top-level photos for the Item, or by clicking “Photos” on the question to display photos just for that question.
